Our little Parish of Christ the King in Tullytown, PA was blessed by a visit of this Icon on October 15, 2011. We had a wonderful day, and welcomed people from all over PA and NJ!
The Icon’s guardian, Reader Nectarios, presented us with a copy of this Icon at the end of the visit. The copy was pressed against the original and blessed. The Icon was then placed in a place of prominence in the Church.
Shortly thereafter, our copy of the icon began to stream Myrrh on its own. We have no explanation for this. The Myrrh has a different scent than the Myrrh on the original, and we do not collect the same amount of Myrrh oil that Reader Nectarios collects from the original.
Our copy of this Icon is still streaming Myrrh today, and the oil damaged the plastic covering that is meant to protect the copy. We had to cut some of it away so that people would not cut themselves on it when kissing the Icon.
Here is a photo of OUR icon, which I took yesterday, July 10, 2013. You will see the bubbled plastic cover and the oil on the face of the icon.
